You’re about to make a decision that matters more than most: where to eat breakfast in Woodland Hills. This is a neighborhood that knows its grub, from the cash-only booths that have survived since 1955 to Italian spots where the carbonara is richer than the karaoke lineup.

We sent a writer out to hit the strip malls and sunny patios, and they came back with twelve solid reasons to skip your kitchen. One place has a charred Caesar salad that will make you question lettuce.

Another serves a brown sugar latte you'll dream about. Your only job is to pick a side and get going.

Crème brûlée cheesecake was fantastic
Great for Mother’s Day lunch

You might come for the pancakes, but you'll stay for the people-watching. JOEY Woodland Hills employs staff straight from a model catalog, which is honestly a little distracting. Phoebe and Mackenzie took care of us like we were old friends, not just another table. The lobster ravioli in that light sauce is a must-order. Save room for the crème brûlée cheesecake. It's fantastic. For a Mother's Day lunch, this place nails it. Just be ready for a crowd.

Inconsistent food between visits

Paoli's Italian Kitchen is a bit of a gamble, but when it hits, it hits. My first visit, the pan pizza was delicious, crispy and chewy in all the right spots. The spaghetti carbonara is worth sharing, rich and creamy. There's a fun karaoke bar atmosphere on weekends, if you're into that. The server we had was friendly and hardworking. But between visits, the food was inconsistent. One time, it was great. Another, not so much. Still, I'd roll the dice again.
